Grenadine is a leno weave: two warp threads twist around each weft as it passes, locking it in place. The result is an open, porous fabric with structure and air. It holds a four-in-hand knot crisply and reads as texture, not pattern, against any suit. Only a handful of mills in Como still produce it.
Grenadine comes in two weights. Garza fina is the finer, tighter version, the one most people picture when they hear grenadine. It is the weave used in this tie. Garza grossa is more open, with larger holes and a more pronounced texture; we use it in our Grossa Grenadine line.
Navy grenadine works with every suit a man owns. With charcoal, the tie reads as the quiet anchor of the outfit. With navy, the texture provides the contrast that a smooth navy tie cannot. With grey, navy is the warmer alternative to black. With brown, it is the cool grounding note.

Our grenadines are tipped. The silk tail is folded back at the end and a wool backing is sewn into the tip, giving it weight and a finished face. Many tie makers leave grenadines untipped, with the silk simply rolled at the end. That keeps the tip lighter but leaves it gauzy and slightly see-through. We chose tipped because it looks finished, both worn and laid flat, and because a substantial tip helps the four-in-hand knot sit cleanly.

Wool InterliningNatural wool interlining gives each tie a full, balanced feel. It helps your knots form perfectly, resists wrinkles throughout the day, and ensures your tie drapes with confidence every time you wear it.
Slip-StitchA hidden thread runs the full length of the tie, allowing it to move naturally as you wear it. This subtle detail preserves the tie’s shape, ensuring it always looks refined and aligned.
Bar TackA strong hand-sewn stitch at each end of the tie reinforces the slip stitch, adding durability where it matters most. This traditional detail ensures your tie keeps its form and looks impeccable wear after wear.
