What's in the set

Three handmade Italian silk grenadines, each one tipped with a wool backing for a finished face. Together they answer most of what a tie wardrobe is asked to do, from the first interview to a wedding to anything in between.

Navy is the quiet anchor against charcoal, grey, and brown suits. Burgundy is the warmer foil against navy and grey. Black is the formal note for evening tailoring and high-occasion wear.

The cloth

Grenadine is woven in Como on traditional looms. The technique pairs two warp threads that twist around each weft as it passes, leaving an open, porous fabric with structure and air. It holds a four-in-hand knot crisply and reads as texture, not pattern, against any suit.

The set

The Set for Life trio is what Aklasu would build around for a man starting his tie wardrobe. Each tie is also available on its own (navy, burgundy, black), but the set is the cleanest path to a wardrobe foundation.
